Installing Kerberos and AFS on Mac OS X

Below you will find instructions on how to install AFS on your Mac OS X box
Note: This guide is intended for people at the Department of Physics, Stockholm Univeristy. It may prove useful for other pepole too, but some topics are clearly site and field specific.

NOTE: Mac OS 10.2 or later is required for these instructions to work. OpenAFS works fine with Mac OS 10.3 (Panther) and OS 10.4 (Tiger).

The most worked out solution for AFS on the Mac is OpenAFS, even though there also exists an alternative, Arla. If you have no specific reasons, I suggest that you install OpenAFS to get AFS to the Mac.
